How You Can Help ARF, Inc.

Many people ask us how they can help ARF, Inc if they are not in a position to permanently adopt one of our rescues. Below are some great ways to help us continue saving lives and giving homeless animals the second chance they all deserve.

DONATIONS

Monetary donations are always needed and gratefully accepted. All donations are only used to care for the animals as we are an all volunteer organization with no paid employees. Besides our vet bills, money is always needed for food, treats, toys, heartworm prevention, shampoos, grooming, crates, beds, etc. The monthly expense to care for all our animals is constantly growing. Donations can be mailed to our administrative office at : ARF, Inc., 15841 Kelly Park Circle, Huntersville, NC 28078 or, for you convenience, you can click on the PayPal link below and send your donation this fast, secure way. Our homeless animals say "THANK YOU!"

FOSTERING

Fostering is an amazing gift to give an homeless animal! You will care, train and love this animal while they live in your home until a permanent home can be found. The time they will be with you varies from animal to animal, usually on the average between 3-6 months. A foster parent is a special person that must be able to give up an animal when the permanent home is found. ARF provides all the vet care for our foster animals. We ask that you provide their food, if you can, and nothing more than a lot of TLC! If you have the time and heart to devote to fostering, please contact us for details.

SPONSORSHIPS

What a urgent need this is! We have many homeless animals that come through our door that require extensive medical care. Some have such extensive medical issues that they are permanent fosters and will be with us for the remainder of their lives. Many are seniors that have been dumped in shelters after a lifetime of devotion to their former families. The volunteers at ARF, Inc. feel very strongly about continuing helping these special need animals but we simply can not do it without your help. Please go onto  Annie's Adoptable Friends link and read each dog's story that has  "sponsor "under his/her name. Find a face and story that touches your heart, and become their sponsor. Your name, city and state will go under each dog you sponsor as their special angel. You can make a monthly donation for your "dog", a yearly donation for them or set it up anyway you like. You tell us how you would like to financially sponsor them. We will send you email updates on your "dog" and furnish you with pictures. Many people want to send gifts to their "dog" on certain holidays and we can tell you, they love that! This is one of the greatest ways to help our special need animals!

VOLUNTEERING

Volunteers are the lifeline of this organization. We simply could not continue our work for the animals without them. We have amazing, dedicated volunteers and we are always looking for more! We all feel everyone needs to give back to their community and if working with animals is your gift to give back, please contact us. There are hundreds of ways to help us from dedicating a Saturday to bathing  dogs and playing with them to helping with fundraising. Think about how you would like to help and contact us!

Starfish - and Cockers

As the old man walked along the beach at dawn, he noticed a young man ahead of him picking up starfish and flinging them into the sea. Finally catching up with the youth, he asked him why he was doing this. The answer was that the stranded starfish would die if left in the morning sun. "But, the beach goes on for miles and there are millions of starfish, "countered the old man. "How can your effort make any difference?" The young man looked at the starfish in his hand and threw it to the safety of the waves. "It makes a difference to this one," he said.
